Heathrow is the airport we drive to from Lincoln more than all the others put together. It takes between 2h 30m and 3h 30m, and which of those you get depends almost entirely on what time we set off.

The A46 down to Newark is the clean way out of the city at that hour, and it puts your chauffeur on the A1 well before the Newark roundabouts start to fill.

From Lincoln the A46 runs south west to Newark and the A1 for the long southern runs, the A15 heads south toward Sleaford and Peterborough and north toward Scunthorpe and the Humber Bridge, and the A46 also gives a clean line toward Leicester, the East Midlands and the M1.
Lincoln is a city built on a hill, and getting out of it cleanly is half the job on a flight morning. The Eastern and Northern bypasses take the through traffic around the edge, and your chauffeur uses them to keep a Bailgate or a Brayford pickup moving rather than tangled in the one-way system uphill. Where you are collected in the city shapes the first few minutes, and we plan for that.
For the long southern airports the route runs down the A46 to Newark and onto the A1, then south for Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton, with Heathrow the furthest and the most planned. The closest airport is East Midlands, and for that the A46 carries on toward Leicester and the M1, the same motorway network that brings Manchester and Birmingham into reach further west. For a North Sea sailing, Newcastle is the port we run to, a longer haul north up the A1 to the Tyne.
The city has a genuinely mixed clientele for executive airport travel, from the university and the hospital to the county offices and the businesses along the Witham. Lincoln Central station handles the rail connections, and we often join or complete a longer journey there, collecting someone off a train and driving the last leg.
